I see myself in the hurt,
I feel people’s pain.
I can see the pain in people’s eyes,
I understand the failures of others.
How they never quite made it,
They never lasted the distance.
Broken, hurt, changed and frozen,
My life flashed before their eyes,
Their life flashes before my eyes.
The goals, aspirations, clinging for it all,
And waiting for change,
Waiting for something to happen,
For someone to happen.
Someone to care like they should’ve,
Like they were supposed to.
But they had other plans,
They put Utopia as the goal for everything in their life,
And they failed at everything.
Because they lied to themselves,
They lied but they knew,
They were lied to,
And they chose to both accept and ignore it.
So it was never a lie,
It was the truth they tried to redefine.
There was never any chance to excel at it all,
At everything,
So they stopped at anything.
They never had deep support,
An injury, a surprise illness, trauma,
Life happened,
And they took the pain
Buried it,
And they hurt then, maybe more now.
Because we adjust,
We adapt,
We hide,
We burrow,
And we give up.
It’s too much to unpack,
So we die with wounds unhealed,
We die even as we’re living.
We can’t let go,
Unravel, fall down or fall apart completly,
Because someone or something needs us now,
Tomorrow or even not at all.
So we mould into a shadow of what we could’ve been,
What we’d wanted to do,
Who we wanted to be.
But that image was never possible,
Because even if it seems like it, things never turn out how we plan.
You’re living the life of someone else’s dreams and you can enjoy it more than anyone else.
Nobody is you, and you’re probably a nobody,
And nobody can care more about you than you.
No-one can compete with you at being you.
Impossible is something,
Being someone else other than you is that something.
You’re not who you were yesterday,
10 years ago and 10 years in the future.
And it doesn’t matter what you do,
It matters how you feel about what you do.
You’re a nobody to almost everybody,
A someone to some people and hopefully an everything to someone.
But the most important thing is that you understand that you can be something that no one else can be,
YOU.
Human Love,
